The search box at the top accepts a 17-character VIN, a five-character P/B/C/U fault code, a saved CSV filename, a saved vehicle, or a diagnostic topic. It opens the correct workspace instead of making you navigate through several screens.

After a VIN is decoded, the persistent vehicle header and tabs keep Overview, Diagnostics, Live Data, Tune, and History attached to that VIN. The app also remembers the last section, active problem, and progress on this device.

The result stays on one page. You see the definition, a plain-English explanation, common symptoms and causes, ordered checks, normal and abnormal result guidance, repair directions, the matching manufacturer source, and the mechanic assistant.

No. A valid five-character code is enough to open the general guide. A full-system scan, suffix, freeze frame, VIN, and actual measurements make the answer more precise, but they are not required to begin.

Official is government or linked licensed service information. Measured comes from the vehicle or an imported log. Trend is a public pattern that still needs testing. AI is reasoned guidance, not a factory specification or proven cause.

When available, it automatically carries the active VIN profile, engine, transmission, selected problem, confirmed build modifications, recorded results, and imported log summary into the chat. It will not invent factory pins, limits, or procedures.

The public Accuracy Bench runs repeatable high-risk scenarios covering brakes, leaks, overheating, oil pressure, high voltage, no-start, misfire, transmission slip, uncertainty, and tuning. It blocks a release when required safety or accuracy behaviors fail. The score covers the built-in assistant, not every possible question or the separately hosted cloud model.

Save and confirm the VIN build sheet. Blueprint detects broad categories such as forced induction, fuel-system changes, cam or engine work, transmission or converter work, gearing and tires, intake/exhaust, and cooling upgrades, then adds relevant context and cautions. Always review the vehicle because text detection cannot know every installed part.

Your verified account saves vehicle profiles, VINs, modified build sheets, repair history, diagnostic cases, photos, recorded results, verified fixes, tuning notes, and complete CSV log files. Recent logs are also cached on the device for fast playback.

Many HP Tuners CSV exports do not include a VIN. Open Logs → Vehicle, enter or scan the 17-character VIN, or add year/make/model manually. The saved profile remains attached to that log.

Allow camera access, use the rear camera, clean the label, fill the scan box with the barcode, and move until it focuses. Photo upload and typed VIN remain available.

Factory connector views, wire colors, torque values, specifications, and repair images are licensed. The app links to the legitimate OEM source instead of guessing or copying protected material.

Mechanic AI recognizes .hpt tune files and .hpl scan logs, records the file identity, and inventories clearly readable metadata. It does not pretend to decode proprietary calibration tables, channel samples, checksums, licensing, or controller definitions. For complete .hpl analysis, open the log in VCM Scanner and use File → Export Data to create a CSV. For .hpt review, attach VCM Editor Tune Details, table screenshots, or Compare → View Comparison Log.

Record or retrieve the scan in HP Tuners VCM Scanner, export the completed data as CSV, then choose Import CSV in Blueprint Diagnostics.

A commanded value or narrowband oxygen sensor cannot prove actual WOT air-fuel ratio. Log a correctly configured wideband and verify fuel pressure and injector data.

Imported CSV logs are privately saved to your Blueprint account and cached on the current device when storage is available. Keep original logs and calibration files backed up separately because Blueprint Diagnostics is an analysis workspace, not your only archive.
